Felt Reports Received by Disaster Report through contact form
Daniel Scroggs: My Heart goes out to the Philippine people that they must endure such catastrophe, My wife and all her family are from negros and surrounding areas.Be sure that God is with you and will watch how you deal with this situation. Please be compassionate to each other in these times of need
PrussianBlue from Cebu: I was about to have lunch at work yesterday when my table started to shake. At first I was not alarmed for in all my life, the tremors I experienced were quick, mild and hardly caused any damage to property nor to people around me. But when the shaking increased and made clanking sounds of the lockers, burgeoning into that weird, creaking crescendo of the giant steel and concrete frames threatening to loosen the hinges, nuts and bolts right in front of me..... I prayed for dear life. Now, I am not the type to panic in times of calamity and natural disasters, though it did make my mind race in several directions what to do in case the rattling did not stop. Out of curiosity, I planted one hand on my desk, grabbed the back of a chair with the other one, and tried to peek down the basement which could be seen through the the crevic! e on the floor (normal design of the flooring) and at that point my breath almost stopped when the earth swayed right before my eyes. Little did I know that that episode was to be followed by at least six (more) aftershocks in the span of time from when I left my office till I was home that night. I was so thankful it was over and yet sad for those who never lived to tell the experience.
kyle anthony besanes from Cebu:
Woah! I was in our school (Siena School of Naga, Cebu) during that 6.9 magnitude e.quake happened. At exactly 11:59 i guess, i wondered why my classmates were running,i was totally out-of-this-world...i thought there was an ``artista`` inside our campus, but then , someone shouted ``linog!`` ..i was completely stunned. But my classm8 grabbed my arms immediately and so we run as fast as we could to the quadrangle. The entire incident was extremely shocking. I thought that was the end of our lives
Reader from Philippines: My family, relatives and friends in Guihulngan are badly affected. They slept on top of a hill with nothing but mats. No lunch, no dinner, just sharing pan de sal and ice water. They are in need of water, food, and meds. I hope the national gov't. will help us since most of our roads are impassable. God, protect us from all harm.
San Fernando from Cebu
: When I went to the air cooler to switch it on, I wondered why it was shaking. About 3 seconds passed before it registered on my mind, it was another after shock. Then 1 hour after, there was another one. God help us!

Neil from Cebu: Just felt the first after shock... still strong...
Nikol from Hinigaran: an earthquake just hit the town of isabela and hinigaran, here in negros occidental. a tsunami alert was also raised by the municipal govt.
Carole chabut from Cebu: brother & family in moalboal ; went to lindogon simala after tsunami alert ; said through sms everything was falling around in carcar

Clare retez from Philippines: how true is this? the eruption of canlaon volcano due to earthquake?
Malou Suson Alcoriza from Cebu: I was eating my lunch around 11:49 when suddenly i felt a very strong shake...I am from Medellin, Cebu...I thought the Sports Complex were about to collapse...coz we were eating our lunch there...as a preventive measure we all went out and stayed on the street for almost 10 minutes..observing aftershocks..I still feel dizzy as maybe as an effect of the strong quake..all classes here were suspended..and tsunami warnings were issued to remind the residence for their safety..I thank the Medellin Municipality of their fast action...and continued updates either online and announcements around the town...thank you so much..

Janice Borromeo Sacayan from Philippines: My family and relatives in Badian Island southwest part of cebu was badly hit by the tidal waves..just seconds after they felt the quake...

Mona from Philippines: ..i dont know what to do pls..help..
Bret from Cebu: I live in the far north of Cebu about 200km from the epicenter and I felt a strong shaking followed by a feeling of nausea. My computer monitor was rocking back and forth. Also we have large fish tanks about 8 meters across and the water in them was slopping from side to side even 15 minutes after the event. We had a smaller quake about 6 months ago about 20 km from us but this felt much worse.
